2022 DECA CENTRAL REGION LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE

On Friday, Dec. 9, 2022, DECA students from Northeast High School and Lincoln College Preparatory Academy landed in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, excited to participate in the Central Region Leadership Conference. They spent two days competing against and networking with more than 1,500 students from 13 states.

HOSA Competitive Events Workshop

Dec. 9th, Lincoln College Preparatory Academy attended the Missouri HOSA Competitive Events Workshop to learn about how competitions work and get some hands on training from the State Officers.

Lincoln College Preparatory Academy won the overall School Champion award at the 13th Annual PREP-KC Regional Math Relays on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022!

Congratulations to our student mathematicians who helped KCPS emerge as the overall District Champion in the 13th Annual PREP-KC Regional Math Relays!

On Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022, 78 students from Central Middle, Lincoln Middle, Northeast Middle, Central High, East High, Lincoln College Preparatory Academy, Northeast High and Paseo Academy of Fine and Performing Arts joined other students from across the metro at Grandview High School for a fun day of math and problem-solving.

Parent Organizations

District Advisory Committee (DAC)

Kansas City Public Schools has a District Advisory Committee (DAC) that meets regularly. Meetings prior to the 2020-2021 school year were held in the KCPS District School Board Room at the Board of Education Building (2901 Troost Ave.)

For the first semester of the 2020-2021 school year, District Advisory Committee meetings will be held virtually.

Meeting Schedule

Every school is asked to send a representative, and parents and community members are also welcome to attend. The DAC addresses school issues and concerns and allows parents to network, share ideas and solve problems cooperatively. In addition, the DAC serves in an advisory role to the District’s Board of Education.

School Advisory Committee (SAC)

School Advisory Committees (SACs) are a great way to get involved in the education of children. Adults who take an active role in education positively impact future generations of leaders, workers and parents. These adults also get a chance to see firsthand what goes on inside schools within Kansas City Public Schools.

A SAC is a school-based volunteer group made up of parents and families of students, community members and school staff. Among the functions of a SAC are:

  • Participation in the development of the school budget
  • Working with the administration on personnel issues
  • Providing input into curriculum selections and development

Parent Leadership Organizations

Participating in parent leadership organizations is a great way to get involved in the education of children.
